The Eastern Loom is a slow fashion brand with a strong focus on women’s empowerment, upcycling, ethics and fair trade.
We believe we can make the world more beautiful through an ethically elevated approach—prioritising artistry over efficiency, fair wages over profits, sustainability over mass production, and quality craftsmanship over mindless consumption.

How it began
Woman-owned. Family-run. Artisan-made.
Akanksha began The Eastern Loom from her home in 2020 with her partner Saransh, sisters Mini and Devi, and talented artisan partners from villages across India.
Together, we bring the spirit of traditional India into textiles, keeping handcrafted artistry alive while making it accessible. Our artisan partners are fairly paid and work in safe, ethical conditions.

Our work travels from Kashmir in the north to Rajasthan and Gujarat in western India. We specialise in Kantha throws, winter blankets and wraps, textile wall art, upcycled silk kimonos, cushions, handloom rugs and more.
